Our ancient city situated on the coasts of three rivers, great Volga, Tvertsa and Tmaka, is always glad to see guests. In its history of almost nine centuries Tver acquired a unique look that harmoniously combined the ancient and the modern times.

The streets where Pushkin and Krylov have walked some time, the buildings where Saltykov-Shchedrin and Lazhechnikov have worked, everything in the city breathes youth now. Along with the most interesting permanent exhibits it is always possible to see exhibitions of our contemporaries in the museums of Tver. Talented youth goes to the same stage in the theaters and in the philharmonic society together with the recognized masters. Unique monuments of architecture like the Emperor's Palace and the "unified façade" of the Stepana Razina Embankment are successfully supplemented by the well developed tourist infrastructure: shopping and entertainment centers, hotels, cafes and restaurants.

It is not incidental that the graceful Old Volga Bridge is considered one of the main symbols of our city. Like the bridge, Tver itself connects the past and the future of our country.
